HVAC Estimator – Commercial HVAC

Precision Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration is seeking an experienced HVAC Estimator to join our growing team.

This role is ideal for:

• An experienced HVAC Estimator looking for greater ownership and autonomy.

• A Mechanical Engineer who has moved into estimating.

• A trade-qualified Refrigeration & Air Conditioning professional with strong commercial estimating experience.

About the Role

Working closely with our current estimator and team, you will prepare quotations/tenders for Light commercial and commercial projects across a diverse client base.

You will liaise with technicians, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to develop accurate, professional, and commercially sound proposals while identifying opportunities to improve asset performance and lifecycle outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Review job requests, drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates

• Liaise with technicians, project managers, and suppliers to gather accurate pricing and scope details

• Prepare professional client quotes and tender submissions

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure compliance with industry standards

• Maintain estimating templates and supplier pricing databases

• Support project handovers and assist with procurement planning

• Prepare weekly and monthly estimating and pipeline reports.

• Maintain estimating templates, supplier pricing schedules, and cost databases.

• Utilise SimPRO and other business systems effectively.

• Embrace AI tools and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and accuracy.

What You'll Need

• Minimum 5 years' HVAC industry estimation experience.

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

• Positive attitude

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management

• Proficient with estimating software (Ground plan preferred), Simper and Microsoft Office

• Trade background or relevant qualification in mechanical services (preferred)

• Australian work rights required for this position

Software Experience

• Microsoft Excel (Essential)

• SimPRO (Essential)

• Ground plan (preferred)

• Strong computer and reporting skills.

• Willingness to embrace AI and emerging technologies.
