For 30 years Alfatron has been a leading electronics manufacturer in Australia. We pride ourselves on offering quality products and service for our customers. At Alfatron, we value integrity, innovation, professionalism and passion. This is an exciting period of growth for us and we are seeking positive, enthusiastic team players to join our team. Experience in the industry would be an advantage, however not essential as training will be provided.
Alfatron has one of only two PCB Fabrication houses in Australia and the only one who has Design, PCB Fabrication and PCB Assembly under the same roof. We are expanding and are looking for Operators that can step in and assist the current team with the PCB Fabrication Processes.
About this role
Junior manufacturing assistant
We manufacture printed circuit boards in Dandenong South — precision components found in industrial, commercial, and consumer products across a wide range of industries. We have a genuine opening for someone at the beginning of their working life who wants to develop a skilled trade in a technical manufacturing environment.
What we are looking for
A practical, common-sense approach to tasks and problem solving
Good attention to detail and a respect for process
Reliability and a genuine willingness to learn
Someone at the start of their career who is keen to develop real, in-demand manufacturing skills
Contributing to a small, skilled team.
Working within our production facility on precision manufacturing processes
No prior experience is required. We will train the right person thoroughly from day one
This role will suit someone who
Has a natural interest in how things are made and how processes work
Learns quickly and engages seriously with technical instruction
Turns up, pays attention, and takes ownership of the quality of their work
Application should include telling us about a practical project you completed recently
It does not need to be technical in the traditional sense.
A piece of furniture you built, a car repair you worked through, a home improvement you planned and executed, a kit you assembled — anything where you set out to do something, encountered a problem, and saw it through to completion.
We will provide thorough training in all aspects of the role. What we cannot provide is attitude, curiosity, and the kind of practical common sense that makes someone effective in a precision production setting.
Our interview will be a 3-hour, on-the-job practical session held at our facility.
You will work alongside our team, handle real equipment, and we will observe how you think, how you approach new tasks, and how you conduct yourself in a production environment.
This role would ideally suit an individual who is experienced in the fabrication of printed circuit boards, screen printing or electroplating background; however, this is not essential. If you are a passionate leaner who would like to kick start your career in PCB Fabrication, please apply.
Training can be provided for the right candidate who is looking to upskill, reskill or have a chance to change to an exciting and invaluable new skillset.
