About the Role

This role acts as the conduit between Customer Service, Branch Managers and Logistics Manager with all drivers with relation to daily delivery requirements.  

The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Plan, create and manage the allocated delivery schedules across the Melbourne Metro branches
  • Assign resources to the schedules
  • Make sure that the drivers are using handheld devices correctly and provide training if required. 
  • Monitor and track progress of deliveries according to schedules created.
  • Capture missed or short deliveries for the day and communicate resolutions to the customers.
  • Support Branch Logistics teams with onboarding new drivers by facilitating buddy training.
  • Handle customer queries and delivery issues that include but not limited to same day deliveries, ETA’s, missed orders, new hire and de hire placement, miscellaneous queries in line with customer service policy.
  • Liaise with sales team to maximise customer service.
  • Action any unsafe sites immediately and reported and follow up on actions completed. 

Skills & Experience

  • 3 Years experience within the transport industry/ logistics role preferrable.
  • Have an excellent knowledge in the geographical layout of the Melbourne Metro region.
  • Prior experience in a transport scheduling/coordinator role preferred.
  • Possess excellent customer service, including all communications, written and verbal.
  • High level skill in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word essential.
  • Familiarity with fleet scheduling and CRM software packages as advantage.
  • Extensive Knowledge of Safety and Compliance essential.
  • The successful candidate will be required to attend a pre-employment medical examination.
