We are seeking an experienced and driven Production Engineer to join our growing Production Engineering team. Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and improving manufacturing processes, documentation, line balance, tooling and process controls that support safe, efficient and repeatable vehicle conversion.

What you'll be doing
Process Documentation and Manufacturing Standards
Develop and maintain assembly process documentation, work instructions and manufacturing standards.
Ensure production methods remain accurate, current and aligned with engineering and operational changes.
Maintain standard times, process sequences and station content to support line balance and workforce planning.
Provide process expertise to support training, production readiness and operational decision-making.
Continuous Improvement and Line Balance
Analyse assembly processes to improve line balance, productivity and station utilisation.
Identify and implement process, tooling and layout improvements in collaboration with Production, Quality and Engineering teams.
Drive efficiency initiatives by reducing waste, optimising workflows and improving process performance.
Champion standardised assembly methods to enhance safety, quality and repeatability.
Tooling, Equipment and Process Controls
Develop and improve process controls for tooling, fixtures and production equipment.
Troubleshoot tooling and equipment issues and implement sustainable solutions.
Evaluate and introduce new tools and workplace aids to improve safety, ergonomics, quality and efficiency.
Ensure tooling and equipment meet safety, quality and production requirements.
New Model Introduction and Cross-Functional Support
Represent Manufacturing in new model launches, engineering changes and production readiness activities.
Provide Design for Manufacture (DFM) and assembly process input to engineering and project teams.
Lead and contribute to FMEA and risk assessment activities to proactively address production and quality risks.
Coordinate implementation of production changes, ensuring minimal disruption and effective communication across teams.
What we're looking for in a successful candidate
A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline
Experience in a manufacturing or automotive production environment, including process documentation, line balance, continuous improvement, tooling/equipment support, process flow development, 5S and involvement in PFMEA/FMEA or gateway/NMI activities.
Organised and able to manage time, priorities and multiple production or project issues effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply, Planning, Purchasing and external suppliers.
Analytical and structured problem-solving capability, including the ability to review processes, identify risks, demonstrate process changes and drive practical conclusions.
Competent with MS Office and relevant process engineering tools, including the ability to develop and maintain process documentation, flow charts, line balance information and improvement records.
Understanding of manufacturing process control, standard work, line balance, tooling/equipment requirements, quality systems, safety requirements and continuous improvement principles.
Able to work with initiative, accuracy and pace while supporting a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
