Chef / Cook (Full-Time)

Rice N Grills is a growing restaurant located in Dandenong, Victoria, specialising in Indian, Kerala, Arabic and multicultural cuisines. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef/Cook to join our team on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook and present food to a consistently high standard.

  • Plan and develop menu items and seasonal specials.

  • Operate commercial kitchen equipment including Combi Ovens.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.

  • Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation standards.

  • Estimate food and labour costs and assist with budget control.

  • Manage stock levels, inventory and supplier orders.

  • Check and receive deliveries and maintain stock rotation procedures.

  • Assist with staff supervision and preparation of kitchen rosters.

  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment.

  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.

  • Prepare and manage a variety of cuisines including Indian, Arabic, Italian and Asian dishes.

Skills and Experience
  • Relevant Cookery Qualification (Certificate III, Certificate IV, Diploma or equivalent).

  • Current Food Safety Certification.

  • Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment, including Combi Ovens.

  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation procedures.

  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
