About the role

Toyota Automated Logistics is seeking a skilled Mechanical Service Technician to join our dynamic team in Dandenong South, Victoria. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to work with advanced automated logistics equipment and contribute to the smooth operation of our facility. In this role, you will provide critical maintenance and repair services to ensure our equipment operates at peak performance, directly supporting the efficiency and reliability of our logistics operations.

What you'll be doing

As a Mechanical Service Technician, your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Performing preventative maintenance on automated logistics equipment and machinery to minimise downtime

  2. Diagnosing mechanical faults and implementing timely repairs to restore equipment to full operational capacity

  3. Conducting routine inspections of equipment, systems and components to identify potential issues before they escalate

  4. Maintaining detailed service records and documentation for all maintenance and repair work completed

  5. Collaborating with operations teams to schedule maintenance activities and minimise disruption to logistics operations

  6. Troubleshooting complex mechanical problems and developing effective solutions

  7. Ensuring all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and company procedures

  8. Supporting the continuous improvement of equipment performance and reliability

What we're looking for

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills, qualifications and experience:

  1. A recognised mechanical trade qualification or equivalent practical experience in mechanical maintenance and repair

  2. Proven experience servicing and maintaining industrial equipment, automated systems or machinery

  3. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues quickly and accurately

  4. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment

  5. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate service records

  6. Ability to work independently whilst also collaborating effectively with team members

  7. Sound understanding of safety protocols and a commitment to workplace health and safety

  8. Strong communication skills and the ability to report findings clearly to operations staff

  9. Flexibility to respond to urgent maintenance needs when required
