An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate leader to join OzChild as a Team Leader for Therapeutic Foster Care Program.

This role is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership within Oz Child’s Therapeutic Foster Care Program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed services to children, young people, their families and carers.

Reporting to the Program Manager Foster Care & Lead Tenant and the Manager Foster Care, you will lead and support a team of Therapeutic Foster Care Practitioners, driving best-practice service delivery and positive outcomes for children and young people in care.

About the Role

The Therapeutic Foster Care Team Leader supports the delivery and performance of the program through the leadership and management of a team of Therapeutic Foster Care Practitioners and will:

• Ensure the review and development of both OzChild and DFFH policy and practice guidelines for the effective delivery of high-quality services to children, young people, families and carers.
• Coordinate joint supervision and reflective practice meetings with Therapeutic Specialists and Foster Care Practitioners.
• Maintain and strengthen key stakeholder relationships across the Therapeutic Foster Care Program.
• Enhance practice and service quality through policy, program and service development.
• Provide leadership, coaching, support and supervision to team members.
• Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and best-practice service delivery.
• Display strong leadership within a complex and demanding service environment.
• Support the recruitment, assessment, training and ongoing development of foster carers.
• Ensure services are delivered in accordance with legislative, contractual and organisational requirements.

Essential Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work, Psychology or an equivalent qualification recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

• Ability to build effective relationships with carers, families, professionals and community stakeholders.
• Excellent assessment and risk assessment skills.
• Knowledge and experience within Child Protection and Out of Home Care systems.
• Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory requirements and practice frameworks.
• Experience delivering training, presentations or community education sessions.
• Experience recruiting, assessing and training foster care families.

The successful candidate will be required to travel and spend time in both  Yarraville and Dandenong offices and kilometers will be paid for .   

Pre-Employment Requirements

Successful applicants will be required to:

• Hold or obtain a valid Victorian Working With Children Check (WWCC).
• Complete a National Police Check & International if applicable  ( This will be organised by OzChild)
